Mind-body medicine focuses on the interactions among the brain, mind, body, and behaviour, and on the powerful ways in which emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and behavioural factors can directly affect health. It regards as fundamental an approach that respects and enhances each person's capacity for self-knowledge and self-care, and it emphasizes techniques that are grounded in this approach.

Mind-body medicine typically focuses on intervention strategies that are thought to promote health, such as relaxation, hypnosis, visual imagery, meditation conscious mental process using certain techniques -- such as focusing attention or maintaining a specific posture -- to suspend the stream of thoughts and relax the body and mind., yoga practice from Ayurvedic medicine that combines breathing exercises, physical postures, and meditation. It is intended to calm the nervous system and balance the body, mind, and spirit., biofeedback. The use of electronic devices to help people learn to control body functions that are normally unconscious (such as breathing or heart rate). The international association of wing chun kung fu (IAWCKF) recognises the importance of mind-body medicine and the role that good teaching and practice of wing chun can play within this sphere of whole-body health. To this end, all the associations' instructors are trained to include Qigong, Neigong and Meditation elements as part of  all our classes.
